I’m a student camera operator studying Camera, Lighting and Sound on the Technical Pathway at the London Screen Academy, a 16-19 film school founded by some of the UK’s top producers with the aims to diversify the screen industries.
On the BFI Film Academy production “Psyche" (2024), I assumed the role of 1st Assistant Camera throughout. My role meant that I had to assist the cinematographer in setting up and packing away kit, and pulling focus.
One of the key skills I learned in this production was the value of working as a team and collaboration. I frequently collaborate with my fellow crew members to this day.
As a student at the London Screen Academy, I have two make two Final Major Projects (one per year.) This film was the result of the first, earning me a Distinction in a UAL Level 3 diploma.
Within my roles, I fully developed, filmed, and edited the final piece, learning valuable skills in media production and editing which I can now transfer to other projects.
For Close Friends, I worked with the creative hub in a BTS Strategist, and Producer (Marketing) capacity. I was in charge of strategising our social media output and rollout, deciding what to post, the content we'd post, and the behind the scenes footage which we would use.
Due to my more senior role, when both the Executive Producer and 1st AD were off set, I was left in charge of the set in my Producer capacity.
